Maria de Los Angeles

This mural gives tribute to female centered families. The three multi-generational figures are depicted against the backdrop of two pre-Columbian goddess figures brought from stone into a warm light of the present. The women embody strength and nurturing, while the abuelita (grandmother) represents the keeper of the families history and origins. The Virgin of Guadalupe appears as an apparition in the center of the Pre Colombian goddess to remind us of her origins.
